The Little Sioux Baseball League is for boys in grades 3-6 who are interested in learning baseball fundamentals while experiencing healthy competition at the same time. This does not replace Summer Recreation baseball and all league players are strongly encouraged to also participate in Summer Recreation baseball for extra practice.

Some league teams include Dawson-Boyd, YME, Canby, and Minneota. During the summer, teams will travel to each town and typically play a double header game, one evening each week June-July on Tuesdays (3rd-4th grade) and Thursdays (5th-6th grade). The game schedule will be released at the end of May.

Practices and home games will be held at the LQPV High School softball fields. Parents are responsible for all transportation to and from practices and games. 3rd– 4th grade will use a pitching machine during games while the 5th– 6th graders will be doing their own pitching. Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices and games, however, if a player must be absent, the coach should be notified.

The registration fee is $60 per player. This fee helps cover the cost of equipment, maintenance to the fields, league costs, and to hire umpires for home games. Each player will be required to wear a LQPV jersey and hat along with black baseball pants and glove. Players may bring their own bat and helmet, but there will be some available. The cost for the hat and jersey are around $60.

A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Monday, April 15th, at 6:30pm in the LQPV Commons to register your player, discuss the league format, league rules, practice and game schedules, equipment needed (including how to order jersey and hat), and more.
